On-the-job

My career with Sonoco has provided challenging work assignments focused on ways to deliver more shareholder value while offering professional growth and advancement. In my current role, I enjoy working with multiple functional areas to understand how to help the business achieve its objectives. I have been very fortunate over my career to have worked with people who have been very generous in sharing their knowledge, wisdom and friendship with me.

Off-the-job

I serve on the board of several nonprofit organizations in the Hartsville community. Public service is a passion of mine and an obligation I feel strongly about. My wife and three daughters keep me pretty busy on weekends when I’m not on the golf course.

Most memorable moments

I have had many opportunities over the years to visit numerous Sonoco locations throughout the world and have always been amazed at the level of shared values and generosity of the people. On a visit to plant in northwest France, my host took my cycling through the country side. Cycling through small French villages seemed like offer too good to pass up. However, what I remember most was how tired I was after a 30-mile ride and trying to keep up with someone twice my age.
