I joined Sonoco in 1996 after receiving my MBA. During my 13-year career, I have held various positions in the Rigid Paper and Closures division. These include plant sales/service and administration manager in California, plant quality and segment service quality manager in Indiana, and global market segment manager and global account manager in South Carolina.
On-the-job
My current position as Global Star Account manager involves managing a large global Sonoco customer, Sara Lee Corporation. I’ve been able to use my educational background and previous work experiences to provide strategic plans and commercial and intellectual property contracts in both the U.S. and Europe, and on innovative R&D project launches.
Off-the-job
With three young daughters, striking a healthy balance between work and home is vital for both professional growth and personal goals. Our family passion is the Classical Arts, particularly the Columbia (S.C.) Classical Ballet—on stage, off stage and through community outreach programs.
Most memorable moments
Sonoco is a unique company in that it provides employees with great cross-functional and cross-divisional opportunities. I’ve had many memorable moments in each phase of my career from certified quality manager and Six Sigma to projects in Brazil, Mexico, France and the Netherlands.
