Projects and proposals submitted to the Sonoco Foundation should also consider including the following information:
• Length of time the organization has existed
• List of principal staff and members of board of trustees
• Board members associated with or employed by the Sonoco
• Indicate whether the board of trustees has authorized the request
• Current sources of income
• Note if you are registered under the Charitable Solicitations Act of your state
• Whether you are a local or state chapter of a national organization
• What significance this project will have to recipients and the total community
• How the project will be carried out
• Expected completion date
• The distinguishing characteristics of the project from others in the same field
• How the project will be sustained once the Sonoco Foundation support is completed
Evaluation and reporting
All requests are screened and evaluated to ensure compliance with grant criteria. Meeting all Sonoco Foundation criteria does not guarantee a grant will be awarded.
The Contributions Committee reviews requests on a quarterly basis and will notify the requesting organization if additional information is needed.
The requesting organization will receive written notification of the committee's decision within two weeks following the quarterly meeting.
The Sonoco Foundation does not return unsolicited information.
Recipients receiving funding at or above the level set by the board of directors must complete and return this form once the funded project is concluded.
