Sonoco's talent review helps the company and its business units plan for future growth by determining current bench strength and identifying likely successors for key positions.

Each year, our executive committee studies the depth of Sonoco's talent pool and each division's processes to ensure its people strategy matches its business strategy. Then, the executive committee uses a performance and promotability matrix, performance management feedback and input from managers to rate employees and ensure the right people are in the right jobs.
