As an alternative to PVC piping, try Sonoco fiber mining tubes for support in soft rock blasting. Sonoco paper tubes house the explosive and provide perimeter control in wet conditions. After-blast testing found that Sonoco mining tubes produce significantly lower levels of harmful gases than PVC piping. The result? Much shorter mine and quarry evacuation times, a reduction in blasting-related health and safety issues and increased productivity.
Sonoco mining tubes can also be easily grouped together using preassembled couplings to form concrete voids for shoring up holes for emulsion blasting. Faster and easier than wood forms and fiberglass, Sonoco mining tubes cut your material costs and boost productivity.
