Sonoco was ranked 48th in Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable Companies for 2019.  This was the second ranking issued by Barron’s, and Sonoco is the only packaging company to appear in both rankings.

The ranking is based on research performed by Calvert Research and Management, which weighs hundreds of metrics that address environmental, social and corporate governance factors for the 1,000 largest publicly traded companies in the U.S. to determine the ranking, focusing on how each company impacts five categories: shareholders, employees, customers, community and planet.

“We’re proud to be included on both Fortune’s Most Admired list and Barron’s Most Sustainable companies list,” said President and CEO Rob Tiede. “In everything we do, we’re guided by the purpose of Better Packaging. Better Life., and it’s incredibly validating to have this affirmed by some of the leading external ranking systems.”
