The Packaging Association (PAC), a not-for-profit global packaging association, recently awarded our EnviroCan™ Rigid Paper Container with a paper bottom and our EnviroSense® PaperBlister™ Package for Pentel® R.S.V.P.® pens at the 2024 PAC Global Awards.

Sonoco EnviroCan Rigid Paper Container with a Paper Bottom
We developed an over 90% rigid paper container (EnviroCan) with a paper bottom as a more recyclable package option that extends product shelf life. This package utilizes renewable raw materials and is comprised of high levels of recycled fiber content.
Currently available in Europe and coming soon to North America, this packaging won these two 2024 PAC awards:
PAC Best in Class for Sustainable Package Design – Package Circularity
We’re honored to be a Best-in-Class recipient in this category. ‘Package Circularity’ refers to packaging designed for circularity by featuring reduction, reuse, recycled content, recyclability and composability in packaging like corrugated containers, flexible packages, rigid/semi-rigid containers and others.
PAC Award of Distinction for Package Innovation Design – Technical
With only six Award of Distinction recipients, we’re pleased to be recognized. The ‘Technical’ category notes packaging that features complex manufacturing, printing and other applications that are connected to attributes or structural design in packaging like corrugated containers, flexible packages, rigid/semi-rigid containers and others.
Sonoco Alloyd EnviroSense PaperBlister Package for Pentel R.S.V.P. Pens
Sonoco Alloyd EnviroSense PaperBlister packaging for the Pentel R.S.V.P. line of writing pens paves the way for retail brands that want to make an environmental impact. We collaborated with Pentel to produce the materials and make the switch to paper packaging seamless. This collaboration met this customer’s sustainability goals by using recyclable materials, helping them save money by utilizing pre-existing Alloyd sealing equipment and creating packaging that’s fully recyclable in the paper stream.
How2Recycle® prequalified, our PaperBlister package has received multiple industry awards:
