Sonoco Expands Fiber Certification Program to Brazil and Mexico

Sonoco has expanded its fiber certification program into Brazil and Mexico, as of mid-February 2016. Sonoco acknowledged Starbucks' Carson Valley Roasting Plant and Distribution Center with a Gold Sustainability Star Award. The Starbucks Carson Valley Roasting Plant and Distribution Center was recognized for its outstanding efforts in recycling, achieving zero waste to landfill. The plant was further credited for the procedures in place to reduce manufacturing waste beyond this – particularly noting the Waste to Energy program that ensures any remaining waste streams that cannot be recycled are repurposed for energy recovery.
