As a specialized division of the world’s leading tubes and cores manufacturer and recycled paperboard provider, Sonoco Recycling collects 3 million tons of material annually – paper, plastics and metal – with a strong focus on old corrugated containers. Roughly 70% of what we collect goes back into our own innovative packaging solutions. This structure makes us dependable even amidst the most diverse market conditions, while helping us reduce waste, ensure quality and deliver real environmental impact.
Our Footprint
A leading top 10 U.S. recycler with over a century of experience – nearly as long as our packaging expertise, we have recycling plants spread across the Southeast, strategically positioned near our U.S. paper mills. This allows faster processing, reduced transportation expenses and a more sustainable supply chain.
Additionally, we have our own material recovery facilities (MRFs) featuring the latest, advanced technology designed to effectively separate and sort commingled recyclable materials.
